Outliner looks like the classic Asteroids but it's all about shooting waves of enemy spacecraft. Mouse controlled, the game is fast and smooth and wireframe in appearance but the action is frenetic. Many game types are supported and most game types support two play simultaneous play with mouse, keyboard, or multiple joystick control. In the normal game, players face wave after wave of increasingly numerous enemies that react in unique and individual ways to the player. Motherships and even larger... secret... enemies will appear every so often. In Ascent, players combat a variety of enemies that appear faster and faster. In Base Defender, players must defend a large base station from enemy attack for as long as possible. There are also target practice and multiplayer deathmatches to enjoy as well as Asteroids. The demo version features a one player, one shield version of classic Asteroids. The graphics may look simplistic but Outliner is as exciting as any game can be.
